“MilkDrive" has a unique bluegrass sound that breaks the barriers of traditional bluegrass music. The band puts a twist on bluegrass to fit their distinct name. Each of the four bandmates can play multiple instruments, allowing them to alternate the positions of each player in the band. This distinct band is made up of recognized and honored instrumentalists. “MilkDrive” is lead by award-winning instrumentalist Brian Beken on vocals and fiddle. Mandolin and harmony vocalist, Dennis Ludiker, is a Walnut Valley contest winner. Noah Jeffries has been recognized as a finalist in the Austin Music Awards as a string instrumentalist. Finally, Matt Mefford adds a depth to the band by using his musical abilities on double base. This power team brings together the sounds of the south to create a progressive blend of bluegrass, jazz and folk. Though most of the band met in a fiddler’s contest in Idaho, the boys made their way down to Austin, Texas after the competition to begin their journey as “MilkDrive.” This is where they met their fourth and final bandmate Matt Mefford. The band published their first album in 2011 and have continued to create music for folk fans ever since. Three albums later, the band is not only a local hit, but is continuing to grow a national fan base. ACANSA is excited to welcome this Austin-based band to the city of Little Rock during the Annual ACANSA Arts Festival.  Do not miss the ever talented band “MilkDrive” September 18th! Tickets: $20
